One man was charged with a fresh domestic assault while his partner, the victim in the recent matter, was additionally charged for breaching a peace bond relating to an historic incident.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on April 15, 2020 Kingston Police were originally dispatched to a Park St address for an intoxicated person calling dispatchers. Upon arrival patrol officers could first hear arguing and then observed the apartment in disarray. The 29-year-old victim was observed to have dried blood on his face and it was determined he had been assaulted by his 44-year-old partner, who was subsequently arrested for domestic assault.
However, it was also discovered that the 29-year-old was on a January 2020 peace bond from a prior domestic matter in November 2019, with conditions not to communicate or be within 20 metres of his partner, and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Because of these three breaches the 29-year-old was subsequently arrested. Both men were transported to the police station and held for a bail hearing to occur the following day.
