On February 8, 2019 at approximately 6:15 p.m. an argument ensued between two roommates at a downtown residence. The two had argued over the male accused leaving garbage bags outside of the victim’s bedroom. The landlord had attended the residence in an attempt to provide mediation however shortly after he departed the argument continued. The accused returned to his room and grabbed a wooden broom handle and struck the victim violently before leaving the residence.

Police responded and arrested the accused when he returned to the residence. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing.

A 26-year-old local man was charged with assault with a weapon and three counts breach probation.
