On August 3, 2022, at approximately 2:40 a.m. the accused entered a vehicle parked in a west end private driveway. The accused stole a wallet containing various cards, including bank and credit cards.

 

At approximately 3:35 a.m. the accused used the stolen debit card to make over $100 in purchases at a store on Bath Road. The fraudulent purchase was captured on video and the accused was found to be known to police.

 

At 8:05 a.m. patrol officers observed the accused on Van Order Drive. The accused was arrested and during a search various stolen cards were located.

 

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was later released on conditions with a future court date.

 

A 30-year-old local man was charged with theft, fraud, possession of stolen property, and breach probation.
