Drugs and cash seized

In the fall of 2019 the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit commenced Project Argo which was aimed at combating a high-level drug trafficking cell operating in the City of Kingston that had connections in the Greater Toronto Area.

In early 2020 four men were arrested and are now facing several charges after the drug investigation seized more than $459,000 worth of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, firearms, and motor vehicles.

With the assistance of the Toronto Police Service, police executed several search warrants in both the Kingston and Toronto areas which resulted in the total seizure of nearly 1.75 kilograms of cocaine, nearly a half-kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, approximately 500 grams of fentanyl, and 56 grams of heroin, all destined for the streets of Kingston. Police also seized over $14,000 in cash and three motor vehicles valued at over $100,000 as proceeds of crime and offence-related property.

Police have charged the four men with several criminal charges including conspiracy to traffic in a schedule substance, trafficking in a Schedule I substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and several firearm offences. Three of the men are from the Kingston area and are 31, 35, and 38 years of age. The fourth man is a 28-year-old from the Toronto area.
