Crime Prevention

We get to the CORE of the Problem!

The Police Services Act requires every police officer to prevent crimes and provide assistance and encouragement to other persons in their prevention.

The Kingston Police recognizes that crime prevention is a key component of community mobilization and that strong community partnerships are an essential element of any crime reduction strategy.

Crime Prevention and Traffic Safety are sections of the Community-Oriented Response and Engagement (CORE) Unit dedicated to coordinated, community-based crime prevention initiatives using Ontario’s Mobilization and Engagement Model of Community Policing and Crime Prevention in Ontario - A Framework for Action.

" The Kingston Police, in partnership with the community, protect and promote safety and quality of life for everyone in the City of Kingston."
