Shelter for physically, emotionally, or sexually abused women and their children. Community Outreach Program offers group and one to one counseling for women and children who want to establish lives free of violence.

Correctional Services of Canada - Victim Services
 

The Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA) recognizes that victims of crime have an important role to play in the criminal justice system. The Act gives victims an opportunity to participate in the federal corrections and conditional release process. It also entitles registered victims to request certain information about the offender who has harmed them and to be informed about some decisions made by the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and the Parole Board of Canada (PBC).

Kingston General Hospital's Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program

Adult victims (16+) of Sexual Assult or Domestic Violence (<72 hours) or Pediatric Sexual Assault (0-15yrs).

 

  • 24/7 specialized and timely response to victims

  • Emergency medical and nursing care

  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy and HIV

  • Forensic evidence collection and documentation

  • Crisis counseling, safety planning, follow-up nursing care

  • Follow-up social work services in the community

  • Referral and co-ordination with community resources

 

Go to your nearest hospital emergency department and ask for the SA/DV nurse on call.

Sexual Assault Crisis Centre

Provides counseling for survivors of sexual assault and child abuse. Offers medical and legal accompaniment, referrals, and prevention programs.

Support Information 

 

Victim Services of Kingston and Frontenac

Volunteers assist police, fire and ambulance personnel to provide on scene, short term emotional, and practical assistance to victims of crime or tragic circumstance. Clients include victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Assists victims and witnesses of crime with criminal court cases. Provides information, referral, and emotional support before, during and after court appearance.

Kingston Community Counselling Centre

Provides individual and group counseling to women who are dealing with past or present abuse from a husband, partner, or ex-partner. Provides cross-cultural counseling and support for minority and immigrant women.
