As Chief of Police for the city of Kingston, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our Kingston Police website. I take great pride in our police service and its members, both sworn and civilian.
Kingston, also known as the "Limestone City” because of the many heritage buildings constructed with local limestone, is a beautiful and vibrant waterfront community. It is home to two well-respected universities, a thriving community college, several government institutions and correctional facilities, and numerous distinguished military units. All of these factors contribute to the richness of our diverse community. A study by Next Generation Consulting in recent times recognized Kingston as "one of the best places to live and work in Canada for young professionals.”
The face of the Kingston Police you may notice from day to day could be the steadfast front‑line patrol officers responding to calls for service or emergencies. We also have specialized resources providing excellent investigation, crime prevention, and victim services, as well as a highly skilled civilian complement supporting all facets of police operations and administration. You might also make contact with the Kingston Police Community Volunteers, a dedicated group of individuals who assist us in delivering quality services to the public.
Members of the Kingston Police continue to build on a strong reputation of dedicated, proud service to our community. In 2016 we will be celebrating our 175th anniversary as a police agency, and we owe much of our success to the excellent relationships and successful collaborations that have been forged with community organizations, police partners, and the community at large in support of excellent policing for Kingston.
