Kingston Police had 173 calls for service during the 48 hour period starting from 5:00 a.m. on February 10, 2019 to 5:00 a.m. on February 12, 2019. Of these, 118 calls occurred in the city central area, 37 in the west end, 10 in the east end, and 2 north of Highway 401. Some of these included:

Assault with a broom handle leads to male charged

On February 8, 2019 at approximately 6:15 p.m. an argument ensued between two roommates at a downtown residence. The two had argued over the male accused leaving garbage bags outside of the victim’s bedroom. The landlord had attended the residence in an attempt to provide mediation however shortly after he departed the argument continued. The accused returned to his room and grabbed a wooden broom handle and struck the victim violently before leaving the residence.

On February 5, 2019 at approximately 12:07 a.m. the male accused was recorded on security video attending inside the main lobby of a west end residential apartment building. The accused was seen repeatedly trying to pry the door open to a bicycle storage unit located in the lobby. Male attempts to flee from police, arrested for possession of drugs

On February 9, 2019 at approximately 11:15 p.m. police, while on general patrol, observed the male accused walking with an associate in the area of Patrick Street and Stephen Street. The accused immediately fled on foot and was located shortly after on Kent Street. As police approached the accused he threw a baggy from his pocket containing a substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine.
